India set to install panic buttons on buses to combat sexual assault

Friday, May 27, 2016 The Indian Government announced on Wednesday they will issue a notification to ensure all buses are fitted with panic buttons to prevent sex-related violence occurring on buses in India. The motion was introduced by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Installation of the buttons is set to become mandatory on June 2. Tests are under way on 20 buses running from Rajasthan to New Delhi.
