I just went through an issue with mold that could of been avoided not more than a week ago. As you all know it can get pretty hot in the summer time here in the sunshine state so we have to use the a/c 90% of the day. Normally when the a/c unit turns off it will darin the excess water through a pipe that leads outside. This was always working properly until recently. I couldn’t believe that all the moisture was literally dripping on top of the water heater. It sounded like everything was draining properly until i had a closer look. Too bad i didn’t get that call right. I was shocked when i woke up the next day and noticed that my hallway was soaked with water. I stuck my head under the compressor unit and saw that the air filter and everything under it was soaking wet. But now i saw the real problem because the black mold had already began to spread on the wood and sides of the air conditioning unit. I started to worry that this mold was growing there for a good day or two. And what made it even worse was i never would of know about it unless this problem with the a/c didnt happen.

The main option i had was to figure out how and where this thing was leaking water from. The next thing i needed to do was find out which natural mold removers that i could use that would not only remove the mold but would be safe to use around my family as well. I had a feeling that the drain pipe was the reason for the leaks. I just went ahead and took a look at that first before i did anything else. And as luck would have it that seemed to be the cause of all this mess. The drain pipe had so much black mold and algae clumped up in it that is was preventing the water from draining. I am extremely blessed that my family and i weren’t exposed to this mold for longer periods of time. i checked out some articles about other home owners had to give up their homes because the toxic mold levels in their home were so high that it was unsafe to live in. As luck would have it, i caught the problem before it became worse. As with any bad time comes the learning part of it and i will always be sure to inspect my air conditioner on a weekly basis for leaks.
